About Us
Founder – Anne-Marie
When our sons were young I used any occasion as a fun educational opportunity. I was often asked if I was a teacher, I’m not. It was important to me that our boys became well-rounded humans, so I introduced them to as much as possible. That meant coping some flak when I bought them a doll’s house or taught them to sew but also exposed me with my sporting background, to areas I wasn’t so familiar with like creative arts and science.
Our home was a gathering place for neighbourhood kids. When they took home stories of fun times, their parents often asked for the activities we did, and I realised I had something to share. The idea for KidsWantYou took shape, I wrote a business plan in 2006, then life took over and I filed it away, yet, I kept collecting activities. In 2016 I realised modern technology provided an easy forum to share 1000’s of customised fun activities with families across the world, so I re-opened the filing cabinet and became an entrepreneur.
After two self-built prototypes, and talking and testing with 100’s of parents and kids, our first version called Express2Fun drew over 4000 downloads. It’s exciting to take the learnings from that first product and make great improvements in the KidsWantYou App coming early 2019.
